Deafness
getting worse and in 1817 he became completely deaf. Although he was no longer

Beethoven's first composition teacher was Christian Gottlob Neefe (1748-1798). Beethoven composed the Missa Solemnis for the crowning of Prince Rudolph as

published in 2010 by the German musicologist Klaus Martin Kopitz load
hypothesis that Beethoven wrote a piece for singer Elisabeth Rockel. He married
in 1813 with the composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel.

dan dia mengatakan bahwa Beethoven bisa menjadi musikus besar pada masa depan
nanti. Kunjungan Beethoven hanya sementara karena uangnya habis, dia juga dipanggil
pulang ke Bonn karena ibunya sakit parah akibat TBC, yang kemudian merenggut
nyawanya pada 17 Juli 1787. Beethoven terbeban mengurusi kedua adiknya yang
masih kecil. Karena ayahnya pemabuk dan menghambur-hamburkan uang untuk
alkohol, Beethoven meminta agar gaji ayahnya diberikan kepadanya. Beethoven
mendapat penghasilan tetap dengan memberi les piano kepada keluarga bangsawan.
Pada
pertengahan 1801, Beethoven menyadari bahwa daya pendengarannya mulai berkurang
akibat otoslerosis. Sebuah surat yang ditemukan di sebuah rumah Beethoven di
Heiligenstadt dekat Wina yang dikenal sebagai ‘Warisan Heiligenstadt’ berisikan
betapa sedihnya Beethoven karena penyakit yang dialaminya. Kesedihannya memang
wajar karena pada saat itu Beethoven sedang dalam puncak kariernya. Karena
penyakit ini, Beethoven menjadi depresi dan dia menjadi semakin minder dalam
pergaulan sosial. Salah satu alasan lain depresinya Beethoven adalah karena ia
tak berhasil mendapatkan ‘teman hidup’. Banyak wanita bangsawan yang sering
dicintainya namun umumnya cintanya bertepuk sebelah tangan

tahun 1822, Beethoven menggubah Missa Solemnis untuk penobatan Pangeran Rudolph
sebagai uskup di Olomouc pada tahun 1819. Beethoven juga memulai rancangan
simfoni ke-9-nya.Pada 7 Mei 1824, Beethoven mementaskan Missa Solemnis beserta
Simfoni ke-9 di Wina. Konser ini sukses besar. Tapi ada berita yang mengatakan
bahwa Beethoven tidak sadar kalau konsernya telah selesai dan terus membaca
partitur. Caroline Unger, salah satu solois alto dalam simfoni tersebut harus
menarik baju Beethoven agar dia mau berbalik dan melihat ke arah penonton yang
bertepuk tangan dengan meriah.Pada tahun 1826, Beethoven menderita demam tinggi
yang ternyata disebabkan oleh sakit ginjal. Penyakitnya tak tertolong dan dia
meninggal pada 26 Maret 1827.
Elise yang misterius

Sebuah
buku yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2010 oleh musikolog Jerman Klaus Martin Kopitz
memuat hipotesis bahwa Beethoven menulis sepotong untuk penyanyi Elisabeth
Röckel. Dia menikah tahun 1813 dengan komposer Johann Nepomuk Hummel.
Melodi
pembuka Für Elise yang terkenal menjadi petunjuk inisial wanita yang dicintai
Beethoven. Melodinya dimulai dengan nada E – D# – E, atau enharmoninya E – E♭ – E, dibaca E – Es – E, huruf
yang menjadi nada lagu dari nama ThErESE atau bahkan EliSE.
